Endodontics
Care focused on the inside of the tooth — diagnosing and treating pain at the root.
01
Overview
Endodontics is the branch of dentistry concerned with the inside of the tooth — the pulp, nerve, and root canal system. It's where we go when pain is coming from deep inside a tooth, when a previous root canal needs retreatment, or when an injury has exposed the nerve.
02
Who it's for
- Pain that's localized to a single tooth, especially with hot/cold sensitivity
- A tooth with a previous root canal that's flaring up again
- Trauma that has cracked or dislodged a tooth
- Referrals for complex cases other dentists have declined
03
How it works
We start with careful diagnostics — thermal tests, percussion tests, digital X-rays, and a 3D scan if needed — to confirm the source of pain before treating. From there, the specific treatment depends on the diagnosis: root canal, retreatment, or occasionally a referral to a specialist for surgical endodontics.
