Sealants
A thin protective coating bonded to the chewing surfaces of molars to block decay.
01
Overview
Dental sealants are a thin, plastic-like coating painted onto the chewing surfaces of molars, where deep grooves trap food and bacteria. They act as a physical barrier against decay and are most effective on kids' and teens' newly erupted permanent molars.
02
Who it's for
- Kids and teens shortly after their permanent molars come in (ages 6 and 12)
- Adults with deep grooves in otherwise healthy molars
- Anyone at elevated risk of cavities
03
How it works
A fast, painless procedure — no drilling, no anesthesia. We clean and dry the tooth, apply the sealant, and cure it with a blue light. Sealants typically last 5–10 years and can be reapplied.
